<p>As we enter the New Year 2010, we are reminded that it is time for those New Year&#8217;s resolution once again. When like most Americans, you may decide that it&#8217;s time to take stock of your personal state of health and start shedding those unwanted pounds.</p>
<p>It is no secret that two out every three Americans are overweight  and a disturbing  15% of our children ages 6 to 19 are overweight and this number is on the rise, increasing the risk of children diabetes and a lower life expectancy. With that in mind it should come as no surprise to find that weight loss will be very prominent on most resolution lists for this New Year. Unfortunately, by the end of January the vast majority of these resolutions will most likely be broken.</p>
<p>You may be wondering why so many people will fail to follow through on such a vital function that will without any doubt have a large impact on their health.  there may be many reasons for this, let&#8217;s look at a few.</p>
<p>- Disinformation from the weight loss industry. Today the weight loss and wellness industry is a trillion dollar industry and yet the problem keeps getting more critical each day. More Americans are on <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/truthabs" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/truthabs';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">weight loss</a> diets of one kinds or the other, but with less success than ever before. Where ever you turn, you&#8217;ll find more gyms, <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/weightloss" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/weightloss';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">weight loss</a> clubs and diet programs being advertised than ever before. The isles in the supermarkets are flowing over with <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/nutrition-articles/order.shtml" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/nutrition-articles/order.shtml';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">diet</a> products, and yet more of us are losing the battle of the bulge than ever before.</p>
<p>Within the industry there are just so many unrealistic promises being made. You&#8217;ll see ads on TV, in the print media and on the internet daily, promising weight loss of unrealistic proportion in record time. Not only are some of these claims misleading, but they often lead to disappointments and frustration on the part of many weight loss candidates when they fail to achieve the promised results.</p>
<p>- Deceptive Practices By the food industry. Our influences are largely shaped by what we read but more so by what we see on television. The Food Industry spends millions of dollars to convince us we should continue to consume their products with no regards for our health. As long as their sales keep going up they will have no incentive to improve the nutritional value of their products. Rest assured, that As long as the consumers seem contented the government won&#8217;t step in to set higher standard for the industry.</p>
<p>- Unrealistic expectation on the part of some consumers. In today&#8217;s fast moving society some people are very impatient and are not prepared to spend the time nor are they willing to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve the desired result. Thus they fall prey to these promises of quick and easy weight loss. While forgetting that the excess weight did not just appear overnight, but are the result of a steady accumulation of fats over a period of time.</p>
<p>Weight gain is primarily caused by an energy imbalance, meaning that the foods you consume are providing more calories than you are burning which causes your body to store the excess calories as fat.</p>
<p>To lose weight you will need to create an energy deficit by consuming fewer calories, increase the amount you burn through physical activities or a combination of both.</p>

<p><strong>What to Eat after a workout session</strong></p>

It is in need of a boost to get it going again. The first thing you do is reach for the nearest thing to drink (hopefully water) to rehydrate yourself. After that, your choice of what to eat dictates how fast you will recover from your workout and how well you will be able to train the next time. </p>
<p>Most people think of filling their body with carbohydrates. It is true that carbohydrates are your main supply of energy while you work out. Consuming carbohydrates before a workout allows you to <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">exercise</a> harder and longer without feeling exhausted. </p>

Glycogen is sugar stored in the muscles as a result of insulin production. It gives you the energy you need to go again when you are ready. Your carbs will stimulate insulin production and then glycogen.</p>
<p>But, since we are dealing with muscles here there is another important nutrient that is needed. It is protein. Protein is the building block of muscle tissue. After an intense workout, especially weight training, <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/leanmuscle" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/leanmuscle';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">muscle</a> fibers have gone through a tearing down phase in an effort to build larger and stronger muscles.</p>
<p>Those muscles need protein to do that. While you are hunting for carbs, don’t forget the <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/protein" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/protein';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">protein</a>. Muscles rebuild when there is sufficient protein available. The first two hours after a workout is optimal time for increasing glycogen production and also for giving the muscles what they need to rebuild. </p>
<p>You may not feel like eating right after a workout but you need to have something in your system to get it going again. It doesn’t have to be much. A heavy meal so soon can make you nauseous. </p>
<p>The best thing to do is keep foods on hand that you can eat in a hurry to keep your body going. One favorite choice is protein bars. They are small enough to fit in your gym bag and you can eat one as you drive home from the gym.</p>

Every woman must remember never to ignore the diet during body building. Secondly no bodybuilder, especially women, should treat dieting as a punishment or deprivation. </p>
<p>Unless the bodybuilder accepts dieting as a way to develop healthy eating habits, then soon or later she will falter and ruin the gains of the entire program. Then again the diet program should not constitute large but few meals. Rather, the ideal <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/nutrition-as/affiliates.shtml" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/nutrition-as/affiliates.shtml';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">diet</a> constitutes small but frequent meals packed with all nutrients and minerals. Small and nutrient-rich meals are enjoyable and also very healthy for a body builder. </p>
<p>The ability of humans to control body heat through sweating is based on the effect of evaporation. When a body builder sweats during a workout, he or she clears the excess body heat by the strenuous <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">exercise</a>. What happens is that the sweat on the skin evaporates into the air leaving behind a cooling effect. This protects the skin from overheating until it cooks itself. Women body builders and physical <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">fitness</a> trainees are very concerned about loosing body fat, maintaining or amplifying body size and even establishing a healthy lifestyle. They usually undergo rigorous training and diet programs with a motivation, persistence and discipline rare in male bodybuilders. </p>
<p>Unfortunately, loosing body fat and accumulating muscles is harder in females than it is in men and the common occurrence is frustrations among most women. <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/leanmuscle" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/leanmuscle';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Bodybuilding</a> was once a hobby and a part time occupation. Today however, bodybuilding has evolved into a competitive sport prospering a multi-billion industry.  As a result, crooked practice has gained roots and body building has become a quest for glory for many. The problem of this commercialization has largely been felt in steroids and substance abuse among professional and even armature body builders. In the early 1980&#8242;s, steroids were legal and readily available. But a ban on the steroids, growth hormones and performance enhancers in body building competitions and many other sports made the substances disappear from the chemists and drug stores. </p>
<p>What it caused was a ripple growth of black market supply chains that could not be controlled. The black market demand Manufacturers got smarter and supplied steroids unknown before some of which were totally undetectable. This has remained the single most delimiting reality on the control of this substance abuse even today. Ingenious body builders still manage to beat testing of listed substances during screening and testing. Regulatory bodies are responsible for testing drug and substance abuse among competing body builders. This makes it so prone to violation while also allowing non-competitive body builders without contesting dreams, to abuse the same substances with wantonness. The substances banned are different across various nations and jurisdictions making testing very complicated. Worse still modern steroids have a very short life and even if banned, they permeate back to the market in different packages and constitution.</p>

<p><strong> 5 Fall Workout Ideas in fresh air</strong> What are the benefits of fall? For one, the days are not so hot and everyone flocks to outdoor spaces to enjoy the view. Use the fall season to ramp up your workouts by getting outdoors. You might be able to smell that fresh crisp air already. </p>
<p>There are a variety of activities that are perfect for fall. You may know some others that you have been putting off because of the heat. There are a few things to remember before working out in the fall. One, it takes your body longer to warm up than in the summer or spring. Be sure to warm up for at least five minutes so that your muscles can get ready for the coming <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">exercise</a> session.</p>
<p> If you are walking, try a slow pace at first until you feel your muscles warming. Secondly, layer your clothing. When you start, the air could be a bit too crisp for a sleeveless or short sleeve shirt. Begin with a layer of clothing that will take moisture away from your body. Follow with a t-shirt or other lightweight cotton top.</p>
<p> Cover everything with a lightweight jacket if you are cold. As you warm up, remove the layers until you are comfortable. Remember that the days get shorter in the fall.</p>
<p> If you are exercising after dark, wear reflective gear so cars can spot you when walking or riding your bike. Now, let&#8217;s continue with those fabulous 5 fall workout ideas. <strong>1.Roller skating</strong> – Take the entire family to the park for an afternoon of skating.<br />
 Roller skating works the entire leg area as well as the abs and the arms. <strong>2.Mountain climbing</strong> – This is a great family workout. Visit your local sporting goods store to get outfitted in the proper gear for your climb. If it’s your first time, use the expertise of an instructor until you get the hang of it.</p>
<p> <strong>3. Bike riding</strong> – There really is no bad time for riding a bike. You control the pace and intensity of your workout. Ride alone or with the family. Tune up your bikes before the first ride, especially if they have been in storage. Properly inflate tires, and check lights, seat position and handlebar position. Don’t forget to wear your helmets.<br />
<strong>4. Gather the family and friends for a game of football, kickball, volleyball or baseball. Spending a couple of hours laughing and running will help you get fit without even thinking about it. <p><strong>How to Find the Right Gym for You</strong></p>
<p>A <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">fitness</a> craze has gripped our society.  Everyone is flocking to the gym to get into shape.  If you want to join in, be sure that the gym you choose is right for you.</p>
<p>A gym membership is not to be taken lightly.  After all, once you sign on the dotted line, you have made a two or three year commitment.  The payment is made each month whether you darken the gym door or not.  Who wants to give away free money?</p>
<p>There are a variety of gyms, probably right in your city.  They range from small family-oriented centers to large megaplexes with all the equipment and amenities you could ever ask for.  But, the decision of what suits your needs is up to you.</p>
<p>Before hitting the gym, ask yourself a few questions:</p>
<p><strong>* When do you have time to work out?<br />
* Will your children accompany you to the gym?<br />
* What can you afford to pay?<br />
* How far will you travel from home to reach the gym?<br />
* What exercises do you like to do?</strong></p>
<p>Don’t be afraid to visit gyms before signing up.  They love for you to come in and let them pitch their amenities to you.  Be mindful of the questions you have and ask them.</p>
<p>* Check to see what the hours of the facility are.  Smaller gyms usually keep to a nine-to-five schedule.  If you have no time to work out in the morning, you are going to be out of luck.  Larger facilities with a bigger membership have hours to fit the needs of a variety of clients.  You may be able to work out as early as six in the morning or as late as eleven o’clock or midnight.</p>
<p>* Childcare is a big issue when it comes to finding time to visit a gym and get a daily workout.  Gyms with childcare options are more attractive.  Look at the times that the play area is open.  Be sure it co-ordinates with your needs.</p>
<p>* Gyms are always running promotional membership ads, especially when they are new to town.  What would cost you fifty or sixty dollars a month may be half that during the promo period.  Get in to the gym of your choice early for better deals.</p>
<p>* Some fitness chains have multiple centers in one city.  Check to see if you can freely move between facilities or if you must stay with the center where you signed up.  Just in case, join the one that is closest to your home or job.</p>
<p>* Gyms have a variety of set-ups.  Some are mostly weights and <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/speedfitness';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">fitness</a> machines.  Others offer aerobics classes, a basketball court, swimming pool or areas for personal training.  </p>

The problem is that people are using the wrong exercises and they are not dieting the right way either.</p>
<p>I think it is safe to say that most people believe that starving themselves and not eating when they are hungry is a great way to <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/BurnBellyfat" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/BurnBellyfat';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">lose weight</a>.  Actually, sure anytime you are limiting yourself on calories, yes you will <a href="http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/weightloss" style="font-family:Verdana;color:#000099;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://fitnesshealthtoday.com/weightloss';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">lose weight</a>.  This is not going to ensure that you keep the weight off.  When you go back to eating like normal when you get hungry, you will end up putting even more weight back on.</p>
<p>Rather than starve yourself and deprive yourself of the nutrients you need, it is better to go ahead and eat when and if you need.  Just don&#8217;t overdo it!  In fact, you can eat fewer calories and still eat more throughout the day.  Instead of eating one or two big meals each day, spread your meals out and eat four or five smaller meals.  This will prevent you from putting the weight back on if you do eat bad every once in a while, you&#8217;ll lose more weight in the long run, and it will curb your hunger.</p>

The exercises and workouts you use the other aspect. It&#8217;s just not going to happen!  Concentrate your efforts on workouts and exercises that utilize your entire body so it burns more calories and sheds fat.  Ab workouts and ab exercises are not going to work.</p>
<p>By adding in weight training or strength training to your full body workout routine, you give your body even more time to burn additional calories due to a spiked metabolism for several hours after the workout.
