Don't Believe These 5 Common Ab Lies
There are so my fad workouts out there that promise you a ripped mid-section that requires almost no effort at all, and the large majority of people I know still think that the best and only way to get a 6-pack is to “run more and do more crunches”. Here are the 5 biggest lies that people believe when trying to get a ripped mid-sections:
1. Running and crunches are the best ways to get a 6-pack
2. If you focus on your abs you will get better results
3. Ab products on TV actually work
4. You can be a little overweight and still see your abs
5. Diet doesn’t matter at all
Don’t believe one of those statements, because they are all completely untrue, yet believed by millions and millions of people. It has been found that THE BEST exercise to building a ripped mid-section is: Squats. Deadlifts come in a close second. Full body exercises that use multiple muscles are going to make your stomach a lot harder and a lot faster than doing hundreds of crunches and running 5 miles a day. A lot of the normal Ab exercises like crunches are unnatural anyways, and put a lot of dangerous pressure and strain on your neck and back. Also keep in mind that Abs DO require working out, and that all of those cheap silly products that you see on TV that promise you maximum results with minimum effort are complete garbage. The people they show using the product are paid fitness models, and I can absolutely guarantee that they didn’t get in the shape they did by using an “Ab bench” 5 minutes per day. It’s a good thing to mention also, that the only way you will EVER even see your abs, is to have a good diet and reduce your bodyfat percentage. You won’t be able to see your abs unless you have around 10% bodyfat or lower anyways, and the only way to get that is to have a good diet!
So remember these 5 common lies that are told about getting a ripped mid-section, and the next time that someone tells you to “run more and do crunches”, just make sure that you laugh. You use your abs when you laugh.
