Agility Training Develops Coordination and Precision
Agility training focuses on developing coordination, precision, quickness and movement during great speed. Agility involves the ability of the body to change directions in an effective and efficient manner and it requires a combination of balance, strength, speed and coordination.
While training to develop agility you must develop balance which is the ability to maintain the body’s equilibrium when both standing and moving without falling over. This involves coordinated actions of such a functions including the eyes, the ears and the organs in the joints known as proprioceptive organs. The ability to maintain your balance under changing conditions of body movement can be developed through exercise and agility training which focuses on developing the component parts of movement as well as by practicing movements.
There are various training techniques including the “stutter step” will assist you in achieving agility while maneuvering. For example, this is a basic component in most maneuvers in sports including: the wide dribble in field hockey or ice hockey. Foot placement can be taught through the use of various exercise tools including the use of flat fitness rings and kettlebells. Your goal should be to move your feet both quickly and accurately, while keeping your feet positioned low to the ground.
Improving your agility through agility training will bring you to a whole new level in fitness and health. Agility training is also improved through core exercises which develop your posture and the ability to hold your body while moving in a proper position. Practicing excellent posture will help you to develop your body’s positioning daily as you go about your regular routine. Developing your core which is your stomach, shoulders and back muscles is an intricate part of developing agility in movement. Developing your body to move effectively and efficiently is progressive and will be seen over a period of training and development.
Agility training is a coordinated effort that involves speed training, balance and coordination and precision in movement. In order to achieve success in any sport you must develop agility during movement; this is the ability to move quickly while maintaining proper position and coordination. The body’s ability to move with precision and excellence is beautiful and desirable; this can be seen in sport’s players such as basketball. Precise movements and consistent coordinated techniques are developed through agility training as well as technique training.
